Up for your consideration is a very
nice quality Antique Colgans Taffy-Tolu Distributed Glass Jar with lid. The lid/finial is a clown? head. Two sides reads “COLGANS TAFFY-TOLU” in raised letters. The company was started in 1879 in Louisville, Kentucky. This was in the early 1900’s and was the second major brand of chewing gum. The jar would have sat on the drug store counter filled with chewing gum.
The jar measures 5″ square and 11″ to the top of the finial. The jar does show normal counter/shelf wear for age and use. The lid and rim of jar also have a few nicks and bruises also from use. There are no other issues one the jar or clown finial.
