This 500 Hong Kong dollar note was introduced by the Bank of China in 2011. It is a brown, blue, and green note that measures 158 mm x 79 mm, is dated 1 January 2015, and bears the signature of Yue Yi. Its obverse side features Bauhinia flowers, the Bank of China Tower, the Bank of China logo, and a SPARK feature of a 500 and a bauhinia flower. Its reverse side features the High Island Reservoir and Dam. Security features include a green-to-magenta windowed security thread with demetalized HK 500 and a large HK made up of small letters, the denomination as the registration device, and a watermark of a Bauhinia flower with an electrotype 500 on a pixelated design. It is also a gem uncirculated note that qualified for Paper Money Guaranty’s Exceptional Paper Quality, experienced minor handling, and has above-average centering. Thus, it is graded 66 by the Paper Money Guaranty (PMG).
